Mike Pomeranz – Biographical Brief

Mike Pomeranz, who co-hosts post-game shows of the Padres on Fox Sports, quickly established himself in San Diego as a major television presenter following his move from KARE-TV in Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Mike, a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, was news anchor for the 5, 6, and 10 pm shows in Minnesota from 2006-2012, when he was persuaded to join Fox Sports.

Prior to KARE, Mike anchored CBS 2 News This Morning and CBS 2 News at Noon, for WCBS-TV New York, but also anchored 6 pm and the weekend evening newscasts.

He was on the air during the September 11, 2001 attacks, and his station was the only network affiliate not knocked off the air due to the collapse of the World Trade Center.

Mike began his television career in 1994, also working as a reporter and presenter in Chicago, Knoxville, Tennessee and Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He has received an Edward R. Murrow Award for his reporting.

Before his news career, Pomeranz was a minor league baseball pitcher from 1989 until a shoulder injury ended his career in 1992. His career record was 9 wins and 18 losses, with an ERA of 4.72.
